A Trip to the Hair Cuttery

Yesterday was haircut day.  I hadn’t really cut my hair other than a trim here and there since before Munchkin was born.  I was getting sick of it, because my hair is super thick and being super long I would go through at least 5 hairbands a week. So I went from this:

To this:

I am very pleased.  I got about four inches cut off and my hair feels so light and short compared to before.  There was also a lady at the salon, who I am pretty sure left bald.  She had her hair bleached and highlighted, but when the poor stylist washed off the dye, she declared that it was not light enough and that she had to redye it for her. I left before I got a chance to see the final outcome, but I don’t think it ended well.

Before I ran out the door for my hair appointment, I enjoyed a big mixed cereal bowl, thanks to the fact that I finally realized that Kashi is in the organic aisle of the supermarket.  I legit spent a good 10 minutes walking up and down the cereal aisle last time I was there looking for Kashi. My combo included Kashi Heart to Heart, Go Lean Crunch and some Special K Red Berries topped off with some blueberries.

After getting my hurr did, I stopped at the happiest place in all of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, The Garden!

The Garden is an organic supermarket.  Even though I worked in Greenpoint for way too long, I never ventured to this part of town to explore The Garden and I’m super happy I made it over there.  The shelves are filled with all things organic, vegan and gluten free.  Since I had been to Stop and Shop the day before, I didn’t really need anything, but I left with a few delicious snacks.

I have to admit, my lunch consisted of chips and dip and yogurt raisins.  Super healthy, I know.  But, I made up for it by making a yummy stir fry with brown rice for dinner.  The stir fry was originally only going to include tempeh, asparagus, broccoli and peppers, but my father said he needed meat for dinner so I threw in some chicken.  My dad is a total meat eater.

After stuffing my face with my oh-so-yummy dinner, I cleaned up the house and packed up my shtuff because I have a hot date waiting for me in the Poconos.

Yea, you should be jealous. πŸ˜‰ Have a great weekend!
