New York Weekend

This weekend was the first weekend in a long time that I spent in New York and it was a nice change.

On Friday, we did dinner at the diner.  Good Eats is a diner that opened in our neighborhood about a year ago.  I’ve only been there a few times, but every time I go the food is really good and the place is hopping with lots of people.  This time was no different. I ordered a chicken wrap with onion rings and a fresh squeezed lemonade. I was really impressed by the lemonade because they actually bring out the squeezed lemons out to you and have you pour it over ice yourself.

Munchkin was a huge fan of my lemonade.

After that Tommy went up to the Poconos to do some yard work before this weekend’s party and Munchkin and I relaxed at home.

On Saturday we awoke the the roofers tearing the gutters off the side of the house.  It’s a lovely sound, believe me.  I whipped up some pancakes for breakfast for Munchkin and myself since it was over a month since we had pancakes for breakfast.

We picked up my cousin and Alex’s godmother and headed out to Long Island to do some shopping.  First up was Buy Buy Baby where we bought a baby shower gift for my cousin who is expecting her first baby girl in September.  Then we hit up Roosevelt Field Mall where I got a shirt to wear to Tommy’s grad party and we both got matching candles from Yankee Candle in the scent Pink Sands.  I can’t wait to start burning mine because it smells AMAZING! We also got samples of the Boscia black mask which I am planning on reviewing soon, so stay tuned. 😉

After we were all shopped out, we went to the Grand Lux Cafe for lunch/dinner.

We started out our dinner with Mimosas like the classy ladies we are.

We both got Cobb Salads which were super yummy.  I especially loved the avocado and bacon in the salad, but then again you put avocado and bacon in anything and I’ll be in love.

We started Sunday with a bowl of cereal.

The theme of breakfast food followed us through the day because I had eggs for lunch and smoothie bowls for a snack.

We also ordered a late night buffalo chicken pizza when Tommy got home, but that went unpictured.

I woke up super early this morning and got my workout in before 8AM.  I’m super proud of myself because normally I would just roll over and keep sleeping, but I actually got up and got on the elliptical.  Now Munchkin and I have to run some errands and do the grocery shopping for the week because our fridge is empty!

Have a great Monday!

What did you do this weekend?
