Heat Wave Day 1

The weather in New York has been brutal, to say the least.  Neighborhoods have even been loosing power, but thankfully, we weren’t effected.

We stayed inside most of the day in the nice cool AC and didn’t venture out until the sun was setting, and even then it was hot.

We started off the day with some yummy dippy eggs.  I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was a really cute way to serve eggs, so I tried it out.  Munchkin was a big fan.

We also enjoyed a giant smoothie bowl for lunch.  I used fresh fruit so it wasn’t as cold and ice creamy like the last bowl I made, but it was delicious nonetheless.

Once the sun set, we headed over to the piers to enjoy the outdoors, without the oppressive heat.  The piers are seriously one of my favorite places in the world.  I love to sit around, enjoy the view and enjoy the company I’m with.  And let me tell you, I had good company last night.

We also stopped by Food Cellar, a supermarket in Long Island City.  My love for supermarkets in a little bit ridiculous.  I could seriously walk around supermarkets all day, looking for interesting, new foods to try.  They had an amazing cake and cupcake section, but I controlled myself and all we left with was some yummy Blueberry and Cherry beer.

We also enjoyed some soft serve ice cream from the Ice Cream Truck.  Vanilla with Rainbow Sprinkles is always the way to go when ordering from the ice cream truck.

We were still running around enjoying our evening when it started to rain.

We made a run for it and got to the car fairly dry, but when we got home, I got absolutely soaked getting Munchkin out of his car seat.  Even though I don’t like getting caught in the rain, it felt really good to get cooled off on such a hot night.

I have an exciting day ahead of me.  I’m going to my first kickboxing class at noon and Tommy and I are going to a Fondue restaurant for dinner.  I’ve never tried fondue so I can’t wait!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!
