Pennsylvania Week in Review

After about a week in Pennsylvania, Munchkin and I are back in New York, which I am less than excited about.  Everytime I leave New York, I come back liking it a little bit less.  Even on the drive home yesterday, I knew I hit New York when the drivers became jerks and the roads became horrible and covered in potholes.  I guess I can’t complain though, people all over the world wish they could live in this city.

Our week in Pennsylvania flew by.  I seriously don’t know where the time went.  The weather was awesome the whole time and we spent a lot of time outdoors.  We bought Munchkin a new pool which he loved.  It even had a slide, which he used as a ramp for his cars.

We also did a lot of eating. I was super spoiled by Tommy and his mom who are both really good cooks. On Friday we made a super yummy dinner.  We made shrimp and scallops with zucchini in a butter garlic sauce with a mix of white, brown, red and wild rice.

On Saturday we made grilled pizza and it was delicious as usual.  We made one of the pizzas with pesto sauce and it was soo good.  I swear that one day we will manage to make a pizza without burning it, but the great thing about this pizza is, that even when its slightly too crispy it still tastes amazing.

I also made smoothies for my men who were working hard mowing the lawn.

We also hit up Saladworks which is a make your own salad place with all the toppings in the world.  I couldn’t decide what I wanted, so I got a Greek salad and Tommy got a Cobb.  Munchkin really enjoyed the whole wheat roll.  I really wish we had a place like this where I live.  For $8 I got a salad so big that I couldn’t finish it.

I also experienced Chick-Fil-A for the first time. This is probably the best fast food place I’ve ever eaten at.  I got the Chicken Strips and they were actually whole pieces of chicken, not ground up scraps like other fast food chicken. They also have waffle fries, which are my favorite kind of fry. We also shared a cookies and cream milk shake which was AMAZING!

Now it’s time for me to make some breakfast for Munchkin and myself. We are going to celebrate the summer solstice by watching with sunset with my friend Paul tonight! Have a great first day of summer!
