When I was a kid, I always thought that Santa Claus must get so sick of all the cookies left out for him on Christmas Eve. I mean, how many cookies can you really eat without getting a belly ache and being ready for bed? This year I have an idea to get on Santa’s extra nice list. Instead of cookies, I’m going to leave him some Hawaiian Spirulina Pacifica from Nutrex Hawaii.

In case you don’t know, Spirulina is a blue green algae that grows on fresh bodies of water. It has been used for centuries to nourish people with records dating back to 9th century Chad and 16th century Aztecs in Mexico. I know, you’re thinking I’m crazy and that Santa doesn’t want that, but just listen to this. Santa, like most of us, is a busy man during the holidays. He doesn’t have time to eat great, hit the gym everyday and get 8 hours of sleep a night because he’s supervising the elves and getting everything ready for the big day. Spirulina is one of the most nutritious, concentrated foods known to man. It contains all of the 8 essential amino acids that our bodies need to function at their best. It is an excellent source of protein, Omega 3s, 6s and 9s, Vitamins A, K, B12, C,D Iron, Manganese and Chromium. Spirulina also strengthens the immune system and boosts energy levels, which we could all use during the busy holiday season.

Nutrex Hawaii’s spirulina has more nutrition gram for gram than any other spirulina supplement on the market. You can get it in pill form and powder form. The pills are not huge and are easy to swallow and the powder is great to mix into smoothies or yogurt. I will give you a disclaimer and say do not smell the pills or powder. Like all spirulina, they smell fishy, but you don’t taste it and you don’t get fish burps that other supplements can give you sometimes.

So if the nutritional stats haven’t convinced you that you need to try spirulina, maybe the big guy himself can change your mind. Santa chooses spirulina over cookies and you should too!
